Ahmedabad fashion week

En ce moment même, a lieu la seconde édition de  l'Ahmedabad fashion week (21,22 et  23 février 2010) à l'hôtel Court Yard Marriott.

Le président de cet événement , Manish Sharma souhaite rivaliser à plus long terme avec la fashion week de Delhi et de Mumbai et ainsi faire de Ahmedabad une plateforme de la mode indienne.
Il faut dire que la région est déjà reconnue pour sa production de textiles traditionnels tels que le double Ikat et divers procédés de teintures et d'imprimés. Le musée Anokhi à Jaipur permets une première approche de cet art Indien.

Par la présence de Rekha, star de Bollyhood qui défilera en Patola (double IKAT réalisé dans la région de Patan),  l'objectif est aussi de promouvoir et de défendre cette industrie du textile traditionnel du Gujarat.


At present the second session of Ahmedabad fashion week is taking place at the Hôtel Court Yard Mariott (21, 22, 23 february 2010).

Manish Sharma, president of this event wishes to rival  with the Delhi and Mumbai fashion week and make Ahmedabad a hub in India fashion.
It's true that the region is already well known for its production of traditional textiles like double Ikat or many kinds of dying and printing. The Anokhi museum in Jaipur is a good way to have a first approach to indian art near and about Gujarat and Rajasthan.

With the presence of the Bollywood queen  Rekha who will walk the ramp at the event in a Patola saree (double Ikat made in the region of Patan), the aim is clearly  to promote and defend this traditional textile industry in Gujarat.
